This September, Office Furniture Heaven had the wonderful experience of sponsoring the Journey Fashion Festival for New York Fashion Week (NYFW 2017). We were thrilled to have the opportunity of treating our friends and key clients to an amazing evening, showcasing some of the leading fashion designers in the industry. The international model, Malena Belafonte, known for her work with Dancing with the Stars, collaborated with the helicopter company, FlyNYON, to put together a show that featured an incredible lineup of talented models, acrobatic dancers, Broadway sirens, virtual reality reality tours of Manhattan, and of course—stunning fashion designs.
Leopold Monaco, newly hired to OFH, took the lead in coordinating our collaboration with the head organizers. The show took place at the Mercedes Club in Hell's Kitchen. Guests were able to lounge outside, drink wine and enjoy the breathtaking view of the NYC skyline, while behind-the-scenes, makeup artists and stylists prepped models for the opening act.
The fashion show came to an exciting start with an outdoor catwalk on the pool deck. Models sauntered out to an energetic audience, exhibiting a wide variety of captivating designs. Some notable highlights were the traditionally-inspired womenswear by the acclaimed London-born fashion designer Lola Faturoti, the beautiful Marilyn Monroe-inspired clothing line by PopImpressKA, lingerie by Christian Lacroix, and the stunning hair sculptures designed by Marcello Costa. On the final day of NYFW, exclusive attendees and press were flown by helicopter to a VIP event at the FlyNyon headquarters, and were treated to an over-the-top fashion show that included champagne, lingerie models arriving out of helicopter, an amazing dance performance by Flex of Brooklyn, and ended with a nighttime aerial tour of the Manhattan skyline. In short, our clients, friends and team had a thrilling experience that we will not be so quick to forget.
